Aerodynamics be Darned!

So what do you do if your family seems to keep growing but your vehicles remain the same size? Expand of course.

We are going camping in Leavenworth, WA this coming weekend and with kids, dog and camping gear loaded in the van, the past few trips have been pretty cramped to say the least.

We finally decided to put that luggage rack that was on the van when we bought it to use and bought a cargo carrier for the top of the van.

It was kind of funny in that it was inside the van, fresh from the store when Valerie and I went to Browns Point Lighthouse Park yesterday to take some coordinates for a geocaching activity we are putting together for the Young Women in the ward this week.

When we were getting in the van to go home again, we both realized that we had no kids with us and that this would probably be our best chance to install it in peace. We went ahead and put the thing on right there in the parking lot of the park.

It was probably a site to behold for the locals, both of us being short with our little T-Rex arms stretching to the top of the van to hook this thing up. Eventually we got it connected and there is now tons of room for packing.

Now if only we could reach it to use it.

That is too funny! I love that I can drive down the main road home and spy on you and your fun pod or your oversized garbage can you had a few months ago. I can only imagine taking my kids to the park to play and seeing the whole thing go down! Oh, to be a fly on that pod.

Ha ha...I married a tall guy so I will never know what that's like. But I can imagine it was interesting!
