Water, Dogs & Sunshine

Ah, another gorgeous July day today. Oddly enough this was one of the very few Saturdays remaining open on our calendar. That is probably a good thing since Valerie and I are still both pushing through pretty nasty colds that we caught during our camping trip last weekend. The difference is that I can take meds for it and Valerie has to just suck it up being pregnant.

Still though with the weather as nice as it was, we couldn't just sit in the house and bake, especially when we heard that we were invited back down to the McCord swimming pool. Those words get our kids scambling for goggles, towels and swimsuits and gets them right into the car.

We had a lot of fun as usual even though Valerie felt better just lying in a deck chair than actually swimming.

Josh played with some of his older cousins in the pool and had a great time... well pretty much just splashing and getting tossed around.

One thing I find funny about the pool is one of the signs in the locker room. Yes, I took a picture in the locker room. Gasp. It's okay, I was the only one in there at the time. Anyone care to play Russian roulette with the shower? Needless to say, we considered the pool water clean enough for our kids today.

This sign was hanging nearby although I'm less certain what it would be like to be scolded by a shower, I'm sure it is no less unpleasant.
Now, on to the dogs.

My older brother Ady and my sister Pam each showed severe disregard for their carpeting this week by both buying new puppies in the last few days from the same litter. One was a yellow lab (Honey Bee) and the other a black lab (Bella). They are just too cute so we had to play with them in my dad's back yard for a bit this evening.

Our black lab (we were first) Boone was there too for the fun but he seemed less enamored with their cuteness.

With the two new additions here in town, there are now four labs in our family here in the south end of Seattle and oddly enough there are four beagles on the north side. Our family has divided evenly between breeds.

There are also some cats but nobody really cares what they are. They are just cats.
