Okay, this is probably kind of a white-trashy milestone but none the less, I was excited to see when I got into my car this morning that today would be the day I rolled over 100,000 miles.
Believe it or not, I actually pulled the car over for a few minutes to snap a couple of pictures with my cell phone (sorry about the quality) and to have a brief silent celebration of the moment. Hooray! (cricket chirp)
Somehow, passing the milestone digitally isn’t as cool as it was back when the numbers actually rolled and you would see the whole group of them start moving in unison.
I first bought my little Audi in February on 2005, when it had only 19,000 miles on it. I loved it. I spend more time in my car it seems like than I do with my family. I’ve really got to get a job closer to home.
Lets see… I’ve had the car for 42 months and I have put 81,000 miles on it which means that I drive it about 1928 miles per month. Seriously, I’ve got to get a job closer to home. I stop doing the math just short of breaking down fuel costs.
Fittingly, I passed the mark while running out to find a geocache on my lunch-hour today.

With all the miles you drive to work anyways, you should just move your family over here to Yakivegas!! I think the commute would be about the same. Of course, November thru February could be more interesting!
We are getting close to 100k on our car as well, I've been anticipating it for a while. We seem to be on the other extreme though... we bought our car in 1999 with 34 miles. It was our only car for 7 years, we drove it across the country and back as well as several trips to Southern California and yet we've averaged... 898 miles / month!
