Yesterday I got the chance to go on a Field Trip with Sarah. Her 8th grade choir was going to sing in the Tacoma Mall. I made sure my calendar was clear that day and got a sitter for Ben for the day. (THANK YOU Amie!)
I was assigned as a chaperone to a group of 5 girls.
The first part of the day involved taking the girls shopping for an hour and a half. Man are teenage girls giggly and silly. And I can not believe some of the things they were looking at. Seriously, who needs bright aqua or yellow skinny jeans. It made me realize that Sarah is actually very tame in her clothing and makeup choices, and I am happy about that.
After grabbing a quick lunch, the girls performed in a little area outside of Macys and they were quite good. Sarah's choir is the 8th Grade girls show choir. They learn and perform songs from movies or musicals. They did a group of songs from My Best Friends Wedding. It was really cute. It was hard to get a good picture because they had dances with all the songs so they never stopped moving.
This would be Zach who got to tag along for the girl fest. He slept the entire time - until about 10 seconds into Sarah's singing and then decided he was starving and wanted attention. Of course that's when it happens.

It was an exhausting day keeping up with a group of teenage girls, but once they all got back on the buses and it was just Sarah and I, it was nice to have some time to talk to her without her brothers there. We don't get that chance all that often. It was nice to be able to do this kind of thing that I wasn't always able to do when I worked full time outside the house.
