Heat Wave

We had a trip scheduled this past July for our nephew Adrian's wedding and our niece Kelsi's baptism. They were one day apart with the wedding being in Twin Falls, Idaho and the baptism in Yakima, WA. And since these are both must see events, we were planning our road trip.

It was right in the middle of the incredible "Heat Wave of aught 9"

Without air conditioning in most homes here in Washington, this is what our thermostat looked like the day we left -
Jeff joked a little about leaving a day early and finding a hotel for the kids to swim in to cool off in rather than them trying to do this -
It took me about 5 minutes to have a hotel room in Pendleton Oregon. And of course, right in the middle of this heat wave, our air conditioning went out in our van - whoo hoo for cars!

This is at a shop in Pendleton where we hoped, hoped, hoped it was an easy fix.............

They were able to make it temporarily cool, and by that, I mean, for about an hour...no worries though, Idaho can't possibly be hotter than Washington and Oregon...hahahaha..now off to Idaho.

I think what you meant to say was that most homes on your side of Washington don't have air conditioning :) Thanks for travelling a million miles in a weekend so that you could be here for Kelsi's special day! It wouldn't have been the same without the VanderHoeven Machine present!!
