Baby on Board

Okay, it may still be a little early for the formal announcement but we have waited about as long as we can. (we are just terrible at keeping secrets) It looks like our already big little family of five is about to gain a sixth member. Little Jellybean VanderHoeven is currently due for arrival September 26th.

We have been hesitant to let people outside of the immediate family know that Valerie is expecting since the first several weeks of pregnancy has been pretty precarious. I don't know all of the medical terms but what I do know is that Valerie's progesterone levels were dangerously (to the pregnancy) low in the early going and she has been recieving DAILY injections (at the hands of yours truly) for the past several weeks to keep those numbers up.

Valerie has been a trooper through the ordeal and only has three and a half more weeks of daily shots to go. (ONLY 25 more shots!?) Before you ask... yes, it is a shot THERE, yes the needle is big and yes, they hurt like mad. What a mom!

We now have the daily ritual of shots at bedtime.

We are excited and a yes bit nervous about our ever-growing family and seemingly ever-shrinking house.

P.S. - We draw the line at 4. We surrender.

Yay for your family! And Val's a trooper for those shots. I detest needles. Is Sarah excited for another baby?
