Late Father's Day / Grandma's Birthday

This past weekend we were also lucky enough to have Keri, Dave, Kelsi, and Andrew come see us. Keri and Dave had a wedding to go to over here for friend from high school, so once again, a chance to have a party.

For Josh, this also meant a fun time with Uncle Dave while we made a quick stop to the supermall.

We had not been able to see my dad for Father's Day last week because he had to work, and my mom's birthday was last week so we had a belated Father's Day/Grandma's birthday BBQ yesterday. I had been hoping for, and was so lucky to have great weather so we could be outside. On my side of the family, when we all get together we have 9 kids mostly 7 and under. Whenever a group of kids like that can play outside, all the better. They can play and play and wear themselves out. It was part of the push to have the Wacky Shack finished this past week.

For quite a while now, every year for my mom's birthday, we have given her a scrapbook calendar with pictures of her grandkids on it. We also fill in dates on all the dates with all sorts of personal family dates such as when we have found out we were having babies, when the babies walked, got teeth, started school, etc.. After the number of years doing it it is very fun to see all the dates adding up.

My sister used the calendar to announce that she is expecting a baby next January! Whoo hoo! Another cousin - we are all very excited for her!
