Yesterday evening we had the opportunity to attend Sarah's Spring Choir Choral at the school she will likely be attending two years from now, Stadium High School.
We had to rush down there right when I got home from work yesterday since Sarah had to be there by 6:00 even though us parents and family were not allowed into the building until 6:45.
We killed the extra time by walking over to Tully's and getting some frosty chocolate milkshakes since the weather was so nice and walked to a geocache in the area that we hadn’t found yet.
The choir did a very nice job from at least what I could see of it. During the very first song it became apparent that Benjamin, being two years old was not going to tolerate two hours of choirs singing. Valerie took him out first after we got some nasty looks from some of those sitting around us and then after a few songs I traded places with her and took Benjamin to play outside.

It wasn't too long until Josh found a way to politely excuse himself to join us. We had a lot of time to kill so we got creative and turned a couple of programs from the concert into paper airplanes and spent at least three minutes playing with those.

I then decided to see how tired I could get Ben and took him and Josh down to the football field to run and climb stairs and work the tackling sleds to their hearts' content that sucked up another five minutes at least.

We spent some time just exploring the grounds of the school. Built at the turn of the century, Stadium is really probably the most beautiful high school I have ever seen with architecture straight out of an episode of Scooby Doo and with the remodel just a couple of years ago has top-notch facilities as well. Hollywood recognized this as well as the school was used as the backdrop for the movie 10 Things I Hate About You for it's great looks too.
The only bad part about the school is that while it is 3½ miles from home as the crow flies, someone put Commencement Bay in the way making nearly a ½ hour drive to actually get there.

We are already starting some discussion in the family as to whether Sarah will actually attend Stadium or if we will instead find a way to attend the school that both Valerie and I attended which is Decatur High School in Federal Way. Decatur has the architecture of a Costco.
We’ll debate more on that subject later as the time to decide draws nearer, there are good points on both sides of that argument. I don’t even really know what side I am on.
There is a really cool page showing a lot of cool historical pictures and providing the full history of the school here.
Eventually, Valerie texted me that the concert was wrapping up and we all rendezvoused back in the front of the school and headed on home. Way to go Sarah on a concert well-sung.

Now save that outfit, you may get a job waiting tables at Sizzler someday.

Oh Yeah sizzler mmmmmmmmmmmmmm too funny
Fun times at Stadium...I had to have a complete stranger move my car for me because I parked on a hill and ended up between two cars that were way too close. It was a stick shift and I barely knew how to drive it. Needless to say, the next football game there I made my friend drive!
I have finally taken a few moments to get caught up on your fun blog and this is what I have to say...
I'm really sorry about you Dad. I hope everything works out alright.
Congrats on the boy, bummer about the slip!
I vote for the pretty school.
And too bad that you didn't win, it would have been fun to watch you guys compete here!
You guys are great!!!
I loved that school!!! I also loved running those stairs everyday in conditioning class. Good times! Haven't been back since the remodel though. Hopefully you have loftier ambitions for Sarah... j/k
STADIUM PRIDE!!! Yeah and by the way: those outfits are HOT!
Way to go Sarah!!! I think it is a great building. I really like the movie too....
