Whoo Hoo! It's My Birthday!

When you have children, you always want to be sure they have a really fun day on their birthday, but as an adult, you don't really care about your own birthday quite as much. I will have to say though, I had so many people make today such a wonderful day! Thank you so much for all the phone calls and messages today. It was wonderful to have so many people call.

My mom had today off and called to see if she could take me to lunch. That was such a fun and wonderful treat. Since she has been working, we haven't been able to see her as much. She called to ask if I wanted to go to Olive Garden - which was a silly question - of course - when should I be there?
We had a very nice lunch with her, Tara, Ben and I. After the meal she had arranged for them to have a birthday cake for me which was so incredibly delicious. They of course had to sing some silly and embarrasing song in Italian, but once I tasted the cake, it was all worth it.

What is a meal for me without Ben trying to be totally weird.
He was trying to see just how much of a breadstick he could get in his mouth at once.
This was so delicious!

My day did not end there - Jeff made reservations for us to go out to dinner (a real date with no kids and everything) at The Lobster Shop.
For Jeff to be willing to go to a seafood restaurant is amazing in itself, but I had convinced him they had steak there too. We were able to have a table outside on the deck which had a beautiful view and it was such a nice meal.
This was our view.

I had prawns and garlic mashed potatoes - so delicious!

Jeff ordered the prime rib from a recommendation of the waitress. We didn't realize he was getting a piece of meat that looked like something from the Flintstones! I was told this was wonderful too, and will have a chance to try it in a few days when I can eat again since about 1/2 of it came home with us.

When we got home, we had one more surprise waiting. Our children were all hiding in the dark to surprise us and had set the table with cheesecake.

This was our table the kids had waiting for us this evening. They were so sweet and even had some fun presents waiting for me. I can not wait to be heading off for my manicure and pedicure!
I am so stuffed - I can not even imagine eating again for awhile. I was so thrilled this week when I had only gained 1.5 lbs, but I am a little concerned about the visit next Wednesday after today!

Thank you to everyone for such a fun and memorable day!!
