This post is my pre-emptive attempt to not look like the biggest loser homemakey (is that a word) mom of all time. You will understand why when Jeff posts the pictures of our attempt at gingerbread houses. Not good.
This is my Christmas stocking my mom made me when I was about 5, I think. I have used it every single year since then. And I always had said when I had kids I would make them stockings too. After Sarah was born, I started making hers, and kind of got some snickering and teasing about how I was such a "mom of only one child" and how "I would soon see, people with more kids would never have the time to do that" and always replied that "Of course I will make them for all my children".
I am by no means a super skilled seamstress, and because of that these take me months to do. I started this last one in April while still pregnant, and was not finished before Zach arrived. Although I did come home from the hospital and put his name across the top within the first few days home. I realized this past week that Christmas was almost here and Zach's stocking was still missing the last few pieces of it, so these snow days have helped me get it finished.
I finally finished it this morning and now Santa can come. Zach was not as thrilled or as appreciative as he should have been...
...but someday he will be.
I was able to get them all made as I had the kids and here is all of them finished. And now that 5 of the 6 of us all have matching stockings, it is time to get started on one for Jeff. Think I can finish before Christmas?

Way to go!! They are super cute and look like tons of work. I love how Zachary and his stocking are the same size.

umm you better be up sewing...you have 3 days!! well maybe 2?
You are lucky that mom made one for her first child because I certainly did not get a handmade stocking...is that because I was number 3? Should I be bitter?!?!
